After the somewhat abysmal Pixel Slate launch, the talk of the company calling it quits on making new Chrome OS-powered tablet devices were constant and loud. Google might take a hiatus making tablets but the company is still effectively working on new laptops especially those under the Pixel brand. Pixelbooks are the defacto standard for premium Chromebooks.

Launched two years ago, the first Pixelbook was not just an industry-defining product — It dispelled the notion that Chromebooks can’t be powerful daily drivers —- but the start of the company’s ambitious hardware franchise with Chrome OS at its core.

There have been whispers about a potential successor in works from the silicon valley giant but none of these so-called leaks provided enough material evidence to be taken seriously. But a recent flow of information has pointed to what could potentially be a new device flying the pixel banner code-named “Atlas.”

Like its predecessor, Atlas AKA the Google Pixelbook 2 is expected to sport some beefy hardware and this includes 8th Gen Intel Core CPUs — from the I5 to i7– and a rumored massive 16GB of memory space. A rep sheet like that puts the illusive Pixelbook on par with Premium offerings from other OEMs running rival operating systems.

According to a leak posted by 9to5google— which predominantly focuses on the display—, the next Pixelbook will support a 4k display while adopting a 3840×2160 plus 16:9 aspect ratio.

The pictures did show the bezels too and for a device that is supposed to set the bar for high-end Chromebooks, they are horrendous artistically.

The leak didn’t reveal other parts of the device making it really difficult to make a conform conclusion but what little it did reveal shows a disappointing design choice. it is still however days and since Project Atlas is not officially announced, the actual Pixelbook 2 might look very much, I hope.

Be sure to check back for more Google Pixelbook 2 information is will be share as soon as it is made available.
