Google Brings Shortcut Options to Calendar

Google Calendar App

Google is actively working to make user experience around every tier of its products better. The company’s Calender app rarely makes the news but the Califonia-based mega tech company is adding a new shortcut feature in a bid to make creating events a breeze.

This follows in the footsteps of the shortcut options that the company introduced last year where users can initiate the creation of new Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc through their browser with a simple command. By simply typing the name of the type of file you want to create followed by .new –like– in the browser, users can conveniently create blank templates of Docs files.

Now, the feature is being adopted for the company’s Calender app where you can easily create events by typing “” or “” into the browser window.

Before, creating similar events will require you to go through several options on the Calendar app, but with the new shortcuts, Google is making sure adding important events to Calendar is a simple as breathing.

Furthermore, the feature goes even further by allowing users to designate on which account they want to add the event to, –if they have more than one account– without having to switch between them.

You can make an addition to your first account by typing “” This saves the event you just created to your primary account– or the one you are logged into while making the addition– however, typing “” will save the event in your second account.

And as you may know, Chrome OS is ushering us into a future of the unknown and I'm here to help in the process of easing the way into that future via ItsChromeOS.
