Google Likely Adding A Browser-Based Gaming Hub to Chrome

Stadia might be Google’s big push to be a gaming powerhouse but the streaming platform isn’t the company’s only gaming adventure, that is if the code spotted by Chrome Story’s Dinsan is anything to go by.
According to these findings, Google seems to be working on bringing big changes to the Chrome browser including the addition of a full game section.

The aforementioned changes are filed under the code name “Joy” with code commit suggesting that Chrome will get a new page called chrome://games on the Desktop version, and on Android, a “Games” hub will likely be added to the “Top Site” page of the browser.
If the commit is deciphered correctly, both of the sections mentioned above could host an organized list of browser-based games.
Furthermore, additional games are slated for Chrome similar to the already addictive Dino game including a browser-based version of the classic snake game with references made to a possible appearance of Proxx.

At this point, it is very unclear as to how Google intends to handle its Gaming endeavor with browser-based games and whether it wants to monetize any aspects of the platform. But it could be that the search titan is doing this out of the goodness of its heart but whatever the case may be, we will attentively follow this development as it progresses.
